Lawmakers in multiple states have introduced measures urging the Supreme Court to strike down Obergefell vs. Hodges, the landmark decision that established the nationwide right to. In the seven years since Obergefell was decided, same-sex marriage bans in 35 states across the country have lain dormant. But should Obergefell be overturned, they would again be activated.

Ten years later, the number of gay marriages has risen by at least 55 percent, reachinginbased on U.S. Census Bureau data as reversing gay marriage by Pew Research Center. The number of households reversing gay by same-sex cohabiting couples has reversing gay risen over this period.
